I make records proudly presents About Places, the debut album from Giobbe. The author from Campania, former frontman of The Disappearing One, published his first solo record. The album is inspired by the places he visited, lived, dwelt in Italy and abroad, and by the people who knew and with whom he shared experiences over the years. Twelve songs with a folk matrix and a rock attitude, played by a full band, which will accompany him even live, in the presentation and promotion of the album.
The album was recorded at IMRecording Studio, with the artistic production by Francesco Tedesco (Danamaste), who also played the electric guitars. Among the members of the band in the studio,
Dino Cuccaro on drums (Sleeping Beauty, This is not a brothel), Marco Normando on bass
(The Disappearing One, Malmo), Gianluca Plomitallo pianos (The Huge). Along the way also Ferdinando Ghidelli on pedal steel guitar (Fausto Mesolella - Avion Travel) and Gianluca D'Alessio on the cello joined the band.
The album, entirely sung in English, has aromas beloved by Glen Hansard and a certain Irish scene, characterized by a strong human component and the genuine approach to music, Jeff Buckley, Broken Social Scene, City and Colour, The Veils, but also Pearl Jam, Soundgarden. A lot of music from the 90’s, of which Giobbe embraces and welcomes the approach.
The Full Length will be available in stores from September 4th 2015 and on all digital platforms like iTunes and the like. The release will also be accompanied by the first music video, My Face Ages, a nostalgic and evocative ballad, directed by Adriano Giotti.
